Unbreakable
By Dana Progar

“God can't break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is
likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every
reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.  It's an
unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very
presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent
post as high priest for us…”
Hebrews 6:18-20

A friend of mine’s boyfriend was recently out of town.  While standing in front of a
mirror in the bathroom, she proceeded to tell me how when he’s not around, she
does not’t feel as confident.  You know, he routinely would tell her how beautiful
she is, how she radiates Jesus, how valuable she is.  Without his words of
truthfulness and encouragement, her assurance of her value waned…

This conversation led me to think of our relationship with our God and His Word of
Truth.  When we don’t regularly listen to God’s voice of love over our worth and
value, our well of true confidence grows shallow.  I love how the book of Hebrews
paints the Word of God as unbreakable…strong, steadfast, unchanging, absolutely
sturdy, honest…a refuge.  Another translation calls this confidence in His promises,
“a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.”

How many of us let the backdrop of God’s truthful words set the stage for our
thought life?  I know I often fail at this.  Too many times, my thoughts revolve
around what does so-and-so think of me, how and what did I do this week, did I
pray enough, did I pray the “right” prayers?  And then I am reminded.  Humbled.
By the joyful fact that Jesus lives in me…and HE IS PERFECT.  I am not!  His
nature redeems.  And really redeems…restores….radiates.  I am reminded that He
wants me to come to Him as I am.  He invites me to drink deeply of His Word.  To be
reminded daily of how precious I am.

I long to live out of that nature.  That Christ-in-me nature.  That richness of God’s
unbreakable truth.  We are daughters of a King!  It’s time to live like that!  May you
be relieved dear sister as you hear God speaking truth, gentleness, and
encouragement to your heart.  May His words be heard daily….may your confidence
be rooted in the facts of His good book…

Questions for Reflection:
What lies have you believed about yourself?  Ask Jesus to reveal these to you and
shine His light and Truth on them.
How are you going to listen to God’s voice of affirmation this month?  I recommend
printing or writing out Scripture that resonates with your heart…check out “The
Treasure Trove” on this website for some ideas.

May you know how loved, how precious, and how radiant you are not only to God,
but to the family of believers.
